Digital Modes and Moods
The fun part of the amateur radio hobby is all the different things you can experiment with and try out. You can follow what interests you, and it is always changing. This page is a collection of dabbling things on the digital side of the world of mine. It never ends...
Bridges to Somewhere!
All of the digital modes I have here are built for the purpose of allowing digital interfaces to my analog Allstar-based repeater system. It is done in the background with DVSwitch, Allstar, as well as YSF Reflectors. With each mode below, you'll be able to talk to both others that are connected to the various modes, as well as users of the analog repeater system. I've always liked to push the envelope and involve as much as possible.
As a quick note, if you have a Pi Star or other interface that you use to connect and you have both DMR and YSF hooked up at the same time, you might notice them bounce back and forth between the two. This is due to the way that Pi Star prioritizes traffic. The system is actually designed for traffic to pass to DMR, Allstar and YSF at the same time. Yes, someone logged into the system with DMR can talk to somone logged in with YSF and back again. If you're one of those that use both modes on the same Pi-Star or equivalent, you can prevent this by changing a talk group on one of the modes you're not using. This may help if your Pi-Star gets a little confused on what it should do.
